Mangystau Oil, Gas & Infrastructure 2013 expo opens in Aktau

AKTAU. November 5. KAZINFORM A three-day Mangystau Oil, Gas & Infrastructure 2013 exhibition opened in Aktau on Tuesday. The annual event has become a traditional platform where the region demonstrates its potential and oil & gas sector specialists meet.

This year's event brought together more than 70 companies from Great Britain, Kazakhstan, China and Russia.

The exhibition was organized by Kazakhstani Exhibition Company Iteca in conjunction with the International Group of Companies ITE and officially supported by the Ministry of Oil and Gas of Kazakhstan, the administration of Mangystau region, JSC "National Company "KazMunayGas" and Shell.

"The region's economy has soared thanks to the development of oil & gas industry. The volume of industrial production has almost doubled over the last five years.

There are 30 oil and gas extracting companies as well as 20 oilfield enterprises with the participation of Russia, China, Austria, Denmark and many other countries. 37 thousand residents of the region or 24% of its employed population work in the industry," governor of Mangystau region Alik Aidarbayev said at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

Participants of the exhibition are divided into 12 sections: oil and gas extraction and processing, geology and geophysics, construction, engineering and consulting, personal protection devices, energy, telecommunications, transport and more.
