Mangystau agro-industrial complex needs to be developed - President

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has criticized low level of development of agro-industrial complex of Mangystau region.
"It is a mammoth task to develop agriculture here in Mangystau region, since it is situated in the desert zone. But the regional agro-industrial complex used to be quite developed," President Nazarbayev said at a meeting with businessmen and members of the public in Mangystau region. According to the President, Mangystau region consumes 20 thousand tons of meat per year. But it produces only 5.5 thousand tons a year. The Head of State stressed it is crucial to solve all the problems of the Mangystau agro-industrial complex gradually.
