Man killing a woman, with her son a witness, sentenced to 16 years

Specialized Inter-district criminal court has ruled against a 35-year-old man found guilty of the offense under paragraph "a", Part 2 of Article 96 of the Criminal Code - "murder with extreme cruelty."

The convicted came to his neighbor and asked her to borrow 1,500 tenge (10 dollars). The woman was able to give only 500 tenge. Dissatisfied with that the man began to insult a woman, as a result of a quarrel. During the altercation the defendant struck the neighbor's minor child in the face, causing him minor injuries. After that, he took a knife from the kitchen and began to strike the woman with the knife.

The teenager, when he saw that his mother was wounded, took a rolling pin and tried to protect his mother, and then the convicted struck him on the head. After that the defendant caught a woman who was trying to hide in the bedroom and stabbed her several times. She died with her son being a witness of that cruel scene.

In the main court the murderer partially admitted his guilt.

The court's decision has not come into force.
