Major sports events scheduled across Kazakhstan in May
A wide range of national and international tournaments in winter, traditional, and summer sports will take place across Kazakhstan throughout May, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
Almaty will host the Summer Youth Ski Jumping Cup.

In traditional sports, Almaty is also set to stage national championships and international tournaments in kokpar, asyk atu, zhamby atu (traditional archery on horses), tenge ilu, and Kazakh quresi.

Almaty, Taldykorgan, Karaganda, Taraz, and Ust-Kamenogorsk will host competitions in taekwondo, rugby, archery, synchronized swimming, sport climbing, swimming, wrestling, and badminton.




Zhambyl region will also stage the Kazakhstan Football Championship for teams representing rural sports schools.

Taraz is also set to stage the National Field Hockey Championship for men’s and women’s teams.
The competitions are aimed at promoting sports development, supporting young athletes, and strengthening the country’s sporting potential.
Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that the Kazakh Ministry of Tourism and Sports had introduced minimum age requirements for children participating in official sports competitions.
