Majilis urges to speed up opening of 3 Kazakh language TV channels

ASTANA. December 21. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Organization works on opening of three full-time TV channels in Kazakh language need to be accelerated. Such recommendation to the Government has been approved by the Deputies of the Majilis (Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament) after the report of Kazakh Minister of Culture and Information Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed at the Governmental hour today.
The Majilis recommended the Government to take measures on full realization of the second stage of "Media Mura" national project; analyze the mechanisms of realization of the Law "On languages of Kazakhstan"; expand the sphere of the Kazakh language application; increase the rate of literature in Kazakh language; develop draft Law "On onomatology"; take measures on the development of the film industry. Besides, the Deputies offered to establish national commission on defining the themes of films aimed at promotion of the national values, ideas of patriotism and development of cultural institutions, especially in the rural areas.
