Majilis Chairman receives US Ambassador

ASTANA. January 16. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Chairman of the Kazakh Majilis Ural Mukhamedzhanov has received US Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Kazakhstan Richard Hougland; Kazinform reports.
Within the meeting a wide range of issues on further development between the two countries was touched upon.
U.Mukhamedzhanov noted that a strategic partnership with the USA is one of priorities in the country?s foreign policy, emphasizing that development of interparliamentary cooperation promotes extension and strengthening of interaction between Kazakhstan and the USA in all spheres.
R.Hougland, in his turn, noted that USA supports integration efforts of Kazakhstan in central Asia and Kazakhstan?s plan to join the WTO.
The USA plans to continue cooperation with our country in the spheres of defense and security.
According R.Hougland, Kazakhstan should adopt a number of economic laws for bringing of our legislation to correspondence with standards of this organization.
