Main task for 2013 - replacement of three-shift and in critical condition schools

ASTANA. January 31. KAZINFORM Replacement of three-shift and in critical condition schools and modernization of the material basis of education institutions is the main task for 2013, Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Zhumagulov said at an enlarged session of the board of the Ministry on the results of the implementation of the Program on Development of Education in 2012 and tasks for 2013 with the participation of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov.
"The main task for 2013 is a replacement of three-shift schools and those which are in critical condition and dangerous to use as well as modernization of the material basis. The Head of State paid special attention to these issues at the sitting of the Government," B. Zhumagulov said.
Besides, he noted that under current conditions new problems emerge after resolution of the previous ones.
The Minister told about a necessity to develop a new specific mechanism for addressing the problem comprehensively.
B. Zhumagulov also noted that new approaches had to include repair works of schools held on a regular basis.
"The akimats are responsible for this work," the Minister added.
