Main purpose of accession to Customs Union - extension of trading area for business: Almaty Mayor

ALMATY. March 27. KAZINFORM /Yekaterina Ionova/ A workshop on the issues of Kazakhstan's accession to the Customs Union has been held today in Almaty on the initiative of the Almaty Akimat and by the instructions of the Kazakh Prime Minister. Representatives of the state bodies explained the main purposes of the Union and prospects of cooperation of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
The members of the Government answered questions of the participants of the workshop concerning the practice of other states in such kind of cooperation, Kazakhstan's WTO accession, political constituent of the issue and the work of business, industrial sectors, taxation and customs authorities within the Customs Union.
Alamty Mayor Akhmetzhan Yesimov summing up the results of the workshop said that the main purpose of the accession to the Customs Union is to extend the trading area for business. "We should extend the trading area in order to increase the demand on our products, improve welfare of our people. Joint work of the Government, local executive authorities and business is necessary for it", A.Yesimov said.
