Lyudmila Gurchenko dies in Moscow at age of 75

MOSCOW. March 31. KAZINFORM Renowned Soviet and Russian actress Lyudmila Gurchenko died in Moscow at the age of 75; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.

Gurchenko was born in November 12, 1935 in Kharkov, Ukraine. In 1953, after graduated from a secondary school, she travelled to Moscow to enrol in the course of Sergei Gerasimov and Tamara Makarova at the All-Russia State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK).

Gurchehko debuted in Yan Frid's film "The Road of Truth", but became popular nationwide after Eldar Ryazanov's comedy "The Carnival Night".

She played her best roles in Alexei German's "Twenty Days Without War", Andrei Mikhalkov-Konchalovsky's "Sibiriada", Nikita Mikhalkov's "Five Evenings", Eldar Ryazanov's "The Railway Station for Two", Pyotr Todorovsky's "Mechanic Gavrilov's Beloved Woman", and Roman Balayan's "Flights in Dreams and Reality".

In 1982, Gurchenko published her book titled "My Adult Childhood", followed by "Applause" and "Lyusya, Stop!" Several vinyl records with songs sung by Gurchenko were released; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
