Luxembourg PM stands for active coop with Kazakhstan

VIENNA-LUXEMBOURG. January 14. KAZINFORM /Yerzhan Ospanov/ Kazakhstan Ambassador to Belgium Yerik Utembayev met with Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Jean-Claude Juncker.

At the meeting Mr. Juncker spoke for expansion of the bilateral cooperation in various spheres. Particular attention was given to trade and economic partnership. In this view he finds the talks and business-forums held in Astana and Almaty cities within the framework of his visit as fruitful, he said.

Jean-Claude Juncker reminded of the invitation extended to his Kazakh counterpart Karim Massimov to pay a return visit to Luxembourg as a head of a business delegation. "Familiarization of the Kazakh businessmen with the opportunities of mutually beneficial cooperation is of great importance", he stressed and added he would charge the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and Industry Chamber to develop appropriate documents.

The Head of the Luxembourg Government expressed interest in the proposition of the Kazakh diplomat on establishment of brother relations between the cities of Luxembourg and Almaty which were regional financial centers.

In turn, the Kazakh Ambassador told about the results of Kazakhstan's socio-economic development in 2009 and the anti-recessionary measures.

The Luxembourg PM welcomed beginning of Kazakhstan's OSCE chairmanship having noted that his country had always supported Kazakhstan's candidacy for this post.

Mr. Juncker also expressed support to Astana's initiative on convocation of the OSCE Summit in 2010.
