Lukashenko dismisses National Bank chief

MINSK. July 19. KAZINFORM Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko dismissed National Bank Chairman Pyotr Prokopovich on Monday, July 18; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
"Pyotr Prokopovich has been relieved from this duties as Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus in connection with his resignation. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed the relevant decree on July 18," the presidential press service said.
In June, the president signed a decree appointing Yuri Alymov to be acting chairman of the National Bank since Prokopovich needed long convalescence after surgery.
