As it was previously reported, the National contest committee for awarding educational grants started work on August 5. 34 165 education grants are allocated this year, including 2 530 for the foundation course at universities, 31 635 grants for admission to I year (full-time education - 31 135, part-time education - 500 grants), 12 600 for engineering science and technology, 5 864 for teaching profession, 2 670 for agricultural and veterinary sciences. 69 624 school leavers have applied for the grants, 1732 of whom are gold medalists (Altyn Belgi badge holders), 322 are after Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, 179 are winners of international and national competitions in general subjects, 921 are winners of international and national scientific competitions in general subjects and 891- winners of national and international sporting events.
