Lightning strikes group of Colombian soldiers: four dead, 10 injured

BUENOS AIRES. August 5. KAZINFORM A bolt of lightning killed four military personnel and injured 10 others in the northern Colombian city of Teorama on the border with Venezuela, Caracol radio said on Thursday; Kazinform cites RIA Novosti.
The soldiers were patrolling an area infested with narcotics traffickers at dawn when a sudden thunderstorm began. A lightning bolt struck a group of soldiers, killing four instantly and severely burning 10 others, Caracol cited a source in Colombia's Defense Ministry as saying.
Colombian authorities have sent a military helicopter to the area for the possible medical evacuation of those with severe burn injuries to the city of Cucuta.
