Land tax rates in Kazakhstan to be increase - S. Akhmetov

ASTANA. October 30. KAZINFORM Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov instructed the Government to increase land tax rates.

"The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, ministries of Finance and Agriculture should carefully study and make proposals to change the rates of land tax on agricultural plots to be used effectively," S. Akhmetov told..

The head of the Ministry of Finance Bolat Zhamishev assured that the amendments will be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers in November of this year.

According to Chairman of the Kazakh Agency for Land Management Kadyrhan Otarov, currently over 30 million hectares of agricultural land in the 57 administrative regions and five cities of regional importance inventoried, more than 800 rural counties and 67.5 thousand businesses examined.

The Agency, during the inventory revealed seven thousand of unused agricultural land in the area of more than 3 million hectares, of which about 400 thousand hectares of arable land.
