KZT 6 bln allocated for road repairs in North Kazakhstan region
According to him, 5.4 billion tenge was allocated for the repair of local roads this year, which is two times more than in the past year. Including, 2.6 billion tenge from the region’s budget.
"The amount of funding for the repair of local roads in 2013 increased 12 times compared to 2003," the governor added.
The length of highways in North Kazakhstan region is almost 9 thousand km, of which 1280 km are in good condition, 2560 km - in satisfactory condition, and 3690 km or 49% of all roads do not satisfy the requirements. According to the head of the region, the repair of roads held in 2013 has improved transport links of 235 settlements where 162 thousand people live.
In addition, the region has been implementing the project of reconstruction of the principal road "Astana - Petropavlovsk".
