KZT 550 billion allocated for guaranteed free medical care in 2012

ASTANA. February 18. KAZINFORM "Above KZT 550 billion was allocated for the provision of guaranteed free medical care in 2012," Kazakh Minister of Healthcare Salidat Kairbekova said during the government's hour at the Majilis.

"In 2012 state budget expenditure on health amounted to about KZT 740 billion, including KZT 550 billion allocated for the guaranteed volume of free medical care," S. Kairbekova added.

The minister also said that in 2012 more than 2.7 million people (approximately 7.5 thousand people per day) were hospitalized; over 2 thousand operations were held daily, 1000 expentant mothers went in labor and 18,000 emergency calls were received.
