KZ Ambassador meets Saudi Minister of Transport

ASTANA. January 20. KAZINFORM. Kazakh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Kairat Lama Sharif had a meeting with Minister of Transport of this country Jubara Al-Suraisiri during which prospects of bilateral cooperation in transport sphere were discussed, Kazinform has learnt from the Kazakh MFA?s press service.
Having noted big transport and transit potential of our country, K. Lama Sharif briefed on Kazakh Government?s activity in development of transport-communications sphere, diversification of automobile, railway and aviation routes in all directions. Particular attention was given to Kazakhstan?s plans on active usage of ?North-South? transport corridor and realization of ?West China?West Europe? trans-global project.
The Saudi side expressed interest in establishment of a joint multilateral transport company for delivery of Kazakhstan goods to Saudi Arabia and the Arab states of the Gulf and vice-versa.
The Kazakh Ambassador highlighted the necessity of including transport and communication issues in the agenda of a regular session of the Kazakh-Saudi Intergovernmental Commission on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural-humanitarian cooperation scheduled for spring in Astana.
In turn, Jubara Al-Suraisiri noted leading role of Kazakhstan in Central Asia and expressed readiness of the Saudi Arabian Transport Ministry to strengthen relations with the Kazakh Ministry of Transport and Communication.
