Kyzylorda rgn plans to process uranium

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kyzylorda region plans to start uranium processing, said the regional mayor Krymbek Kusherbayev.
"The region will produce more than half of Kazakhstan's uranium, therefore we are discussing with Kazatomprom possibilities to process uranium in place," said Krymbek Kusherbayev. As it was previously reported, uranium mining is growing in Kazakhstan. Last year, the region produced 3320 tons of the rare earth metal.
