Kyrgyzstan to launch oil refinery in spring
An oil refinery will be launched in Kyrgyzstan’s Batken Oblast in the spring of 2025. This was announced at a board meeting of energy companies and institutions under the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic on the results of 2024, Kabar reports.

Thus, license agreement No. 2 was received for oil and gas production at the Severny Sokh and Chongara Galcha fields. Repair and preparatory work was carried out on oil wells together with Kyrgyz-Turkish K-Neftegaz OJSC and Kyrgyztransneftegaz State Enterprise; at present, the construction of the oil refinery is 95% complete.
Full launch is scheduled for March 2025. Oil is being produced at 7 wells. Today, 200 tons of oil have been produced. Currently, 42 employees are working. Once the project is fully launched, 350-400 jobs will be created.
