Kyrgyzstan rose in world PPP ranking from 68th to 22nd place
According to the independent assessment of the economic magazine The Economist Intelligence Unit, which compiles the ranking of PPPs by country, the Kyrgyz Republic has risen from 68th place to 22nd place, changing its status from “nascent” to “developed PPP environment”, the National Investment Agency reported, Kabar reports.
Today, the project portfolio of the Public-Private Partnership Center consists of 68 projects with an investment amount of more than 100 billion soms.
Over the period from 2021 to 2023, the project portfolio was increased from 32 to 68 PPP projects, and by the beginning of 2024, the number of signed agreements was for 27 PPP projects for a total investment amount of more than 31 billion soms (350 million US dollars).
As part of the activities for 2023, 6 agreements were signed on PPP projects involving private investments worth more than 2.1 billion soms ($24 million).
