Kyrgyzstan intends to join Customs Union

ASTANA. December 28. KAZINFORM /Arnur Rakhymbekov/ The Kyrgyz delegation led by recently elected Prime Minister Almaz Atambayev is in Russia within the framework of its official visit.
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin noted that despite decrease of the trade turnover there was a positive trend over the last 10 months of the year at the meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart.
Kyrgyz Premier A. Atambayev said that Russia was a strategic partner of Kyrgyzstan. 'We see our future in close relations with Russia', A. Atambayev noted adding that Russia and Kyrgyzstan also had common history and relations in the past.
Kyrgyz Prime Minister Almaz Atambayev emphasized that Kyrgyzstan intended to start over energy projects with Russia and joint the Customs Union of Russian, Kazakhstan and Belarus.
