Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan sign protocol on water facilities use
The 34th session of the Joint Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic for the use of interstate water facilities of the Chu and Talas rivers took place in Cholpon Ata, Kyrgyzstan, Kazinform News Agency cites the Kyrgyz Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Ministry.

The parties were engaged in discussions of the shared co-financing of Kazakhstan for utilization and maintenance of interstate water facilities of the Chu and Talas rivers, amendments to the Agreement between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan on the use of interstate water facilities of the Chu and Talas rivers as of January 21, 2000, and the development of a bilateral document on the management and use of the Chumyshskiy hydraulic engineering unit on Chu, etc.

The protocol was signed following the 34th Joint Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic for the use of interstate water facilities of the Chu and Talas rivers.
