According to Nurtleu, the meeting discussed in detail a wide range of issues of political, trade and economic and investment cooperation.

Last year, the amount of Kazakhstani investment in the Kyrgyz economy stood at 55 million US dollars, with the total investments exceeding 1.3 billion US dollars. Kazakhstan is the third top trade partner of Kyrgyzstan. The countries aim at increasing the bilateral trade to two billion US dollars. Kyrgyzstan is among the main trade partners of Kazakhstan in the CIS and EAEU. Taking into account the positive perspective, we’re ready to increase the export to Kyrgyzstan by 260 million US dollars of 200 commodities in food, industrial, petrochemical, construction, and pharmaceutical sectors. This year, one of the main Kazakhstani investors is ready to channel 70 million US dollars in the implementation of joint projects. The issues of regional nature on which both counties share the same position were also discussed. We’re to defend the interests of our region and work closely to ensure stability and prosperity in Central Asia, said the Kazah Foreign Minister.

On his part, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubayev stressed that the official visit of the Kazakh counterpart demonstrates the high level of Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations.

Kazakhstan is an important and reliable partner and ally, the all-round progressive development of friendly and mutually beneficial relations with which is of great importance. Our states pursue the course of strategic and allied partnership, developing bilateral relations in all spheres of mutual interest, coordinating foreign policy activities, closely cooperating in ensuring stability and security in the Central Asian region. With pleasure we noted the traditional close relations between our countries within international and regional organizations such as the UN, CIS, CSTO, and SCO, in which we share the same positions and support each other’s initiatives, said the Kyrgyz Foreign Minister.
