Kyrgyz leader supports idea of Turkic Academy proposed by Nazarbayev

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev signed the law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On ratification of the Agreement between the governments of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey on creation of the Turkic Academy, Kazinform has learnt from the academy's press service.

The law was adopted by Zhogorku Kenesh, the Kyrgyz parliament on June 25, 2014. The treaty on creation of the Turkic Academy, proposed by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, was inked on August 23, 2012 in Bishkek. According to the treaty, if 3 out of 4 founding nations sign the document, the Turkic Academy will be granted an international status. The document has already been ratified by 3 countries. The Turkic Academy set to become an international organization will unite all Turkic-speaking countries.
