Kostanai region is developing extreme tourism

At a press conference of Kostanai region's governor at Astana's Central Communications Service, she noted that Kostanai had unique climatic, historical and ethnographic resources and favorable geographical position.

"The proximity of the Russian Federation allows us to expand international inbound tourism with high economic efficiency," - she said. According to her, the tourist traffic in the region both inbound and domestic has been growing with each passing year; new tourism infrastructure has been commissioned, the number of hotels, lodges, recreational and entertainment centers has grown as well as the amount of small and medium-sized tourism businesses over the past 5 years.

Adventure tourism in the region is mainly hunting and fishing. It is offered by three tour operators LLP Safari, LLP VORWERK and LLP Kostanayintur, who together own more than 45 hunting grounds in the region. The above tourist companies serve over 500 foreign tourists a year, mostly European citizens.
