Khorgos passenger traffic exceeds 1.5 million

BEIJING. KAZINFORM - Over 9 months of this year, passenger traffic through "Khorgos" checkpoint, in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, has reached a record level for the first time exceeding 1.5 million people.
It bears to remind that Khorgos is the largest land border crossing located on the Sino-Kazakh border. In addition here are situated Khorgos international center of cross-border cooperation, as well as a joint Kazakh-Chinese waterworks "Dostyk" (Khorgos River). In September of the current year Khorgos settlement was officially granted town status.
