Key universities in Kazakhstan to get 10B tenge - President

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has instructed to channel 10 billion tenge into formation of a research and technology base for Kazakhstan's key universities until 2017.
"We've defined 10 universities that will ensure the link between the economic sectors and personnel training. The universities located in southern Kazakhstan will train staff for chemical industry. Training of personnel for oil and gas industry will concentrate in the west of the country. As for eastern-based universities, they will offer training to specialists of the mining and metallurgic field," President Nazarbayev said while delivering the State-of-the-Nation Address at the Nazarbayev Center. "I charge the Government to allot 10 billion tenge for these purposes," Nazarbayev added.
