Presently, KazSat-2 operates at 64% of its full capacity.

According to Mussabayev, incomplete loading of the satellite is due to the fact that telecommunications companies at the time of failure of KazSat-1 entered into long-term contracts with foreign companies - providers of satellite services.

For example, in 2012 the satellite's capacity did not exceed 56%.

KazSat-2 is designed to provide television broadcasting and transmission of data in the satellite communication system on the territory of Kazakhstan, Central Asia and the central part of Russia, as well as to meet the needs of Kazakh satellite operators.

The satellite is now available to nine communication providers in Kazakhstan.
