KazEOSat-2 will be launched by Dnepr carrier rocket - Kazkosmos

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Second Kazakh satellite remote sensing (RS) KazEOSat- 2 is scheduled to be launched from "Yasniy" launch base (Orenburg region, Russia) by "Dnepr" carrier rocket, Kazkosmos reports.

"Dnepr" carrier rocket with a cluster of satellites including KazEOSat-2 will be launched June 20, 2014. "Dnepr ", designed on the basis of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) RS-20, should put into orbit 34 spacecraft of Britain, Holland, Spain, Kazakhstan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, South Korea, and the United States.
According to the International Space Company (ISC) "Kosmotras" which is implementing a program for the creation and commercial exploitation of space rocket complex "Dnepr" on the basis of the world's most powerful ICBM RS-20, the current launch of "Dnepr" will be the first among the three planned in 2014.
