Kazbrig peacekeepers partake in NATO’s REGEX 14 exercise

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Officers of Kazakhstan's peacekeeping force "KAZBRIG" are taking part in NATO's REGEX 14 exercise (Regional exercise) in Istanbul.

The exercise involved 130 soldiers, as well as representatives of non-governmental and international organizations. The war games reportedly will run until October 20-24. The workshop is aimed at strengthening the cooperation of country participants. Azerbaijan, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Mauritania, Montenegro, Republic of Moldova, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Pakistan, Serbia, and Ukraine are taking part in the drills at the Ataturk Wargaming and Convention Center. The peacekeeping exercise will help participants gain experience and improve combat skills when performing peacekeeping operations in accordance with NATO standards. Representatives of the command joint forces of NATO together with observers from other countries will evaluate the workshop. The NATO military alliance is comprised of 28 member countries and 22 partner countries.
