Kazatomprom enhances international cooperation at PDAC 2025
From 2nd to 5th March, Kazatomprom JSC took part in the international conference Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC), held in Toronto, Canada, the company's press service reported.

The company was also represented in Kazakhstan's national pavilion and at the forum Meet Kazakhstan: The Power of Geology in the Ninth Largest Nation, organized as part of PDAC.
During the forum, participants discussed current issues of mining industry, including development prospects in the field of rare and rare earth metals, strategic partnership and investment potential of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan companies presented their projects while foreign partners shared their experience and views on the development of the industry.
The CEO of Kazatomprom, Meirzhan Yussupov, participated in the round table on “Financial opportunities for mining industry of Kazakhstan” along with representatives of leading international financial institutions and mining companies.
"The government of Kazakhstan is actively working to attract investment to the country, creating favorable conditions for international cooperation. The uranium industry of Kazakhstan is a shining example of successful partnership. Although the company does not need capital to develop its uranium business, we are open to dialogue in the area of rare and rare earth metals," said Meirzhan Yussupov.
The Kazakhstan forum also included a thematic session “Kazakhstan’s Path to Leadership in the Global Uranium Market,” where Kazatomprom’s Chief Strategy and International Development Officer Dastan Kosherbayev, Cameco’s Senior Vice President Sean Quinn, and Orano Mining’s Senior Strategy and Partnership Advisor Christian Polak discussed the prospects of the nuclear industry and the role of industry leaders in anticipation of the "nuclear renaissance". The participants emphasized the high level of cooperation and significant contribution of Canadian and French partners to the development of the mining industry in Kazakhstan.
"25 countries signed a declaration to triple nuclear power capacity by 2050 at the UN Climate Change Conference COP 28 n 2023, and in 2024, another 6 countries joined the declaration. This initiative was supported not only by political leaders, but also by the world's largest banks and financial institutions. Last September, at Climate Week in New York, 14 leading financial organizations expressed their readiness to support the growth of global nuclear potential”, Dastan Kosherbayev emphasized.
The participation in the PDAC 2025 confirmed the strategic importance of nuclear energy, as well as Kazatomprom’s leadership status as a reliable partner for the global nuclear industry.
