«World tantalum economics is incurring great deficit of raw mineral with legal sources. The main ways of raw mineral are from Brazil, Australia, the Russian Federation and Africa. Unfortunately, neither Switzerland nor Kazakhstan have reasonable reserves of tantalum raw material, that is why the company is focused on African assets», mentioned A. Tsoraev while considering the issue of creating a joint venture company on the production of tantalum deposits and construction of process plants.

As per his words, "Kazatomprom" acts as a partner from the Kazakh side. Ulbinsk metallurgical plant owned by "Kazatomprom" is a unique enterprise experienced in the development and production of highly-technology materials from uranium, beryllium, tantalum and niobium. "UMZ" JSC is one of the world's biggest tantalum producer.

"Mineral resource international" is the Swiss partner which extracts and supplies various types of raw minerals. In the joint enterprise the company is presented with the licenses on mining and development of tantalum deposits in Ruanda and Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Holding aims at providing the UMZ with tantalum raw minerals via construction of mining companies and creation of highly-technological plants producing clear tantalum and niobium oxides.
