Kazakhtelecom to reduce tariffs since 1 January 2014
Current monthly tariffs for consumers of internet services in rural areas will be reduced from 2 000 KZT and 4 000 KZT to 1 300 KZT and 2 600 KZT respectively. At the same time, starting 1 January 2014, the volume of incoming traffic included in the monthly fee will grow from 2 GB to 3 GB and 6 GB to 7 GB respectively.
1 January 2014, international telephone connections provided by Kazakhtelecom will be charged for 1 second instead of the current 10 seconds. For instance, now a conversation over the phone lasting 21 seconds costs 15 tenge (with Russia), 24 tenge (with China and Germany), 36 tenge (with the United Kingdom). Since 1 January 2014, Kazakhstani citizens will pay for a conversation exceeding 21 seconds just 9 tenge (with Russia), 16 tenge (with China and Germany), 25 tenge (with the UK) thereby getting tangible savings on international calls.
