Kazakhstan’s Zhukayev battles through qualifying round of 2024 Australian Open

Kazakhstan’s Beibit Zhukayev stormed into the 2nd round of the qualification of the 2024 Australian Open in Melbourne, Australia, Kazinform News Agency reports.
According to the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation, world number 188 Zhukayev routed Argentinian Nicolas Kicker 6-1, 6-4. It took him one hour and 10 aces to win the match.
In the next qualifying round Zhukayev will face world number 99 French Hugo Gaston.
Another Kazakhstani Denis Yevseyev will clash with Ukrainian tennis player Vitaliy Sachko in the first round of qualification.
Kazakhstan’s Timofey Skatov crashed out of the 2024 Australian Open qualifying round after losing to Damir Dzumhur of Bosnia and Herzegovina in a three-set match.
