Kazakhstan’s space tourism presented at tourist exhibition in China
Kazakhstan’s tourist potential is presented at the one of the major annual tourist exhibitions in the world China Outbound Travel& Tourism Market (COTTM) in Beijing, China, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

Kazakhstan’s tour operators, hotel industry representatives and carriers working with China welcome guests in the country’s pavilion, with information stands on tourist locations and products deployed.
There is a strong interest in Baikonur Cosmodrome, which still remains a new tourist destination. Rocket launch tours and excursions to the spaceport in the interlaunch period at Baikonur are on offer since this spring. Chinese students keen on astronautics show great interest in visiting the Cosmodrome, said Konstantin Kikvidze, head of the Photosafari.kz tour company.
He went on to note that Baikonur lacks tourist infrastructure.
Destinations in Mangistau also attract Chinese tourists. Many tourists visit sites in Mangistau region on their own cars and motorbikes. This contingent of tourists usually has many followers on Chinese social networks, thus contributing to the promotion of this route, added Kikvidze.
Speaking about the tourist infrastructure in Mangistau, Kikvidze said that the region has few stopping points, to which his company found a solution, offering comfortable mobile camps with hot water, shower, the internet and field kitchen.

As Meiramgul Balgozhina, Director General at Empire Travel Qazaqstan tour operator, noted, the rise of event tourism, including tours dedicated to conferences, exhibitions and sports events in Kazakhstan, is among this year’s trends in inbound tourism under the Year of Tourism of Kazakhstan in China.
This year, our company was the official tour operator of the 27th Asian Table Tennis Championships. We welcomed over 300 tourists from China, who are fans of this sport. Such sports events are of great interest for Chinese tourists, she said.
The exhibition is to run through October 18, 2024.
To note, the year 2024 was declared the Year of Tourism of Kazakhstan in China, and the year 2025 – the Year of Tourism of China in Kazakhstan.
