Timofey Skatov of Kazakhstan advanced to the quarterfinal of the Chennai Open ATP Challenger 2025 tournament in India, Kazinform News Agency cites the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation.
Skatov of Kazakhstan upset Aslan Karatsev of Russia, former world no.14 and mixed doubles silver medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, 6-4, 7-5 in the second-round match.
The Kazakhstani is to take on next Billy Harris of Great Britain.
Earlier, Kazakhstan’s women’s ice hockey secured their third win over Chinese Taipei in the preliminary round group B match at the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China.
