Kazakhstan's Sagyn Omirbaiuly claims 2nd place at children's song contest at Slavic Bazaar
The 33rd edition of the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk kicked off in Belarus last Thursday, Kazinform News Agency reports.

In his welcome speech, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that the Slavianski Bazaar gathered like-minded people from more than 40 countries – from Russia to India and from China to Colombia.

Today, this festival brings together people from different generations, religions and cultures – the true art lovers with different tastes – from avant-garde to classics. But, most importantly, the festival has truly become a family holiday, a celebration of traditional values, said the Belarusian President.
During the ceremony, the winner of the 33rd children's song contest in Vitebsk was announced – Yasmina Khusniddinova from Uzbekistan, who scored the highest point of 139.
The runner-up was Kazakhstan’s Sagyn Omirbaiuly, just one point behind the winner. Sagyn performed Kazakh people’s song Eki zhiren.

A total of 14 young contestants from over 10 countries competed in the song competition.
Joining the Festival for the first time was the South African Republic.
Beginning on July 5, the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk features a series of major events, including exhibitions, plays, solo concerts of famous performers, march-parades and so on. The event is to wrap up on July 14.

On July 12, declared the Day of National Cultures of the SCO states, the roundtable discussing the Dialogue of Cultures – the factor of unity of the peoples of the SCO nations is to take place.
On this Saturday, the 33rd International Song Contest at Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk is to take place at the Summer Amphitheatre, with Kazakhstan represented by singer of the variety and symphony orchestra of Almaty’s mayor, winner of the Zhas Kanat contest Yernazar Zhuban.
