Kazakhstan’s Rybakina propels to semifinals of Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships 2025

World No. 7 Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan cruised into the semifinals of the ongoing Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships 2025, Kazinform News Agency learnt from the Kazakh Tennis Federation.

Kazakhstan’s Rybakina defeated world No. 56 Sofia Kenin of the U.S. with a score of 6:2, 7:6 (7:2). Rybakina now leads their head-to-head records 3-0.

The match lasted one hour and twenty-five minutes. The Kazakhstani athlete served 17 aces, made two double faults, and converted three out of 5 break points.

Elena Rybakina will face world No. 14 Mirra Andreeva of Russia for a place in the final, after Andreeva pulled off a stunning victory over five-time Grand Slam champion and world No. 2 Iga Swiatek, winning 6-3, 6-3.

It was earlier reported that Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan has defeated Spain’s Paula Badosa in the Round of 16 match at the now-running Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships 2025.
