Kazakhstan’s Putintseva wins at the start of Qatar TotalEnergies Open in Doha

World No. 20 Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan stormed into the second round of the WTA 1000 Qatar TotalEnergies Open in Doha, Kazinform News Agency cites the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation.
Putintseva defeated world No 63 Moyuka Uchijima of Japan in a tough match with a score of 6:2, 6:7 (5:7), 6:3 at the start of the competition.
The match lasted for two and a half hours, during which Putintseva hit two aces, made two double faults and converted 8 break points out of 14 earned.
Thus, the Kazakhstani tennis player successfully advanced to the second round, where she will face Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic.
Earlier Kazinform News Agency released the WTA updated list of athletes’ singles and doubles rankings.
