Kazakhstan’s Prokhodov pockets bronze at 2025 Cadets and Juniors Asian Fencing Championship
Kazakhstan's fencer Kirill Prokhodov claimed a bronze medal at the 2025 Cadets and Juniors Asian Fencing Championship in Kuwait, Kazinform News Agency cites Sports.kz.
The athlete successfully passed the qualification round.
In the knockout stage, Prokhodov began with a win against Abdallah Alnaser from Jordan, followed by a victory over a Chinese opponent.
In the match for a spot in the top eight, he faced his teammate, Bogdan Lukin, and won with a score of 15:9.
In the quarterfinals, Prokhodov defeated Shi Jinze from China. However, in a hard-fought semifinal match against Nok Man Yuen from Hong Kong, he lost by just one touch, 14:15.
As a result, the Kazakhstani finished the championship in the third place.
As reported earlier, Ruslan Kurbanov has become the best in the Men's event among Kazakhstani athletes, securing 13th place at the Qatar Fencing Grand Prix stage.
