Kazakhstan's only table tennis player Gerassimenko fails to reach 2024 Paris Olympics quarterfinal

Kazakhstan's table tennis star Kirill Gerassimenko failed in a Round of 16 match against Omar Assar of Egypt, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Kirill Gerassimenko of Kazakhstan was upset by Omar Assar of Egypt 2-4 in a Round of 16 match of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Previously, in a Round of 64 match, Kazakhstani Kirill Gerassimenko defeated Nicolas Burgos from Chile. The four-set match ended with a score 11:4, 11:5, 12:10, 11:6 in favor of the player from Kazakhstan.
On his Olympic journey, the only representative of Kazakhstan in table tennis then defeated German player Dang Qiu in a tense Round of 32 match of the ongoing Olympic Games.
The Kazakhstani was competing in his third straight Olympics.
