Kazakhstan’s Omarkhanov skyrockets in ITF Juniors Rankings

The International Tennis Federation has presented an updated list of junior athletes’ singles rankings, Kazinform News Agency cites Olympic.kz.

Kazakhstan’s Amir Omarkhanov, 17, climbed ten spots up taking the 4th line in the updated ITF Juniors singles rankings. He entered the top-5 for the first time in his career.

Last season, Omarkhanov won one J300 Beijing Juniors Tournament and three major doubles tournaments, including the Orange Bowl, considered an unofficial world championship.

Zangar Nurlanuly, 16, also moved up thirty six spots, securing 38th position in the ITF Juniors rankings. Nurlanuly won three major singles titles in 2024, including J100 Izmir, J200 Shymkent and J100 Aizkraukle.

Damir Zhalgasbay landed 112th spot, coming closer to the top 100. Damir won the J100 Krakow tennis tournament last year.

As earlier reported, three Kazakhstani tennis players would compete in Australian Open 2025 qualification.
