Kazakhstan’s No Good In Sight: A Story film to vie for top honors at Shanghai International Film Festival

The film No Good In Sight: A Story, directed by Kazakhstan's Alibi Mukushev, has been included in the program of the 28th Shanghai International Film Festival, Qazinform News Agency cites the Kazakh Culture and Information Ministry.

The film will premiere internationally on June 16, 2026, in Shanghai.

Its director and screenwriter is Alibi Mukushev, a lecturer at the Kulyash Baysseitova Kazakh National University of Arts.

The work began in 2023, with around 70 students from the university contributing.

The film explores father–son relationships, reflecting on family ties, memory, loss, guilt, responsibility, and the search for inner reconciliation.

The Shanghai International Film Festival, founded in 1993, is China’s first international film festival accredited by FIAPF in the A category.
