Kazakhstan’s mixed short track team to vie for top honors at 2025 Asian Winter Games finals

In the Mixed Team 2000m Relay quarterfinal, Abzal Azhgaliyev, Olga Tikhonova, Malika Yermek and Merssaid Zhaksybayev finished first, leaving Japan and Taipei behind, Kazinform News Agency learned from the National Olympic Committee.
In the semifinal, the Kazakh team showed the second result and secured a right to compete in the final competition slated for February 8, 07:06 am (Astana time). Those competing in the final will be Denish Nikisha, Adil Galiakhmetov, Yana Khan and Alina Azhgaliyeva.
Earlier, Kazinform reported that Alina Azhgaliyeva, Madina Zhanbussinova and Olga Tikhonova stormed into the women’s 1500 m short track semifinals at the 2025 Asian Winter Games ongoing in Harbin, China.
