Kazakhstanis embark on health promotion program

ASTANA. September 11. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandagulova/ - Friday the Nur Otan party headquarters held a round table devoted to the issues of protection of health of Kazakhstan population. The purpose of the gathering, says Vice-Chair of Molodezhniy Mazhilis ('youth mazhilis') Anatoly Zloy, is to involve population into health improvement activities by introduction of prophylactics programs in schools and kindergartens. The round table is timed to the Health Festival to be held tomorrow.

During the official part of the meeting there was signed a memorandum between four parties on the measures of promotion of healthy life among the people of Kazakhstan.

President of the "Salauatty Qazaqstandyq" Sofya Yevdokimova said "they lay emphasis on the word 'prophylactics', not just 'health'. There have been elaborated two programs on prevention of sight diseases, flat foot, scoliosis, provision with vitamins for pre-school and school children, and prevention of drug addiction, smoking and alcoholism. The campaign "The Way of Kazakhstani People to Perfect Health" starts tomorrow. The information about the program will be available in all the schools of the Republic of Kazakhstan", she said.

The active members of Zhas Otan youth wing of the Nur Otan party, officials of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Science and NGO representatives took part in the forum.
