"In general, young people in Kazakhstan are quite optimistic about their future. 84.5% of young people are satisfied with their lives. Modern youth say that they are happy with their standard of living and financial situation. I believe this is a good indicator," Director of Youth research center Zhanar Bukanova said at a Wednesday briefing. "Thanks to government support, the level of youth unemployment in the country is reducing gradually," she added. "It is worth mentioning that the level of youth unemployment in Kazakhstan makes 4.6%. The percentage of young people who have no job and do not attend higher education institutions amounts to 8.6% However, the crime rate among young people has declined significantly over the past couple of years," she said. According to her, today nearly 4.3 million young people (up to 29 years) live in Kazakhstan. More than 100 thousand have no permanent job.
