Kazakhstani terminal to be launched at Lianyugang port in China

The news was made public following the 9th Beijing-hosted session of the Sino-Kazakhstani subcommittee for cooperation in the railway sector. The terminal jointly operated by the administration of Lianyugang port and KTZ Express JSC will be launched during Nursultan Nazarbayev's visit to China. Back in 1995, China and Kazakhstan agreed that the latter will use the Chinese port of Lianyugang for cargo transportation. In 2013, Kazakhstan started the construction of its own logistic terminal on the territory of the port underpinned by the cooperation agreement between Kazakhstan TemirZholy JSC and the Lianyugang authorities. Located in the northeast part of Jiangsu Province, Lianyungang has quite an important geographical location and is linked by railroads with other large Chinese ports - Qingdao, Dalian and Shanghai. As reported earlier, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev will pay a state visit to China from May 19 to 22 and attend the Shanghai Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
