Kazakhstani tennis players upset in Australian Open 2025 qualifying round

Kazakhstan's tennis players failed to propel to the main draw of the Australian Open 2025, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from Olympic.kz.

Three Kazakhstani tennis players including Mikhail Kukushkin, Dmitry Popko, and Timofey Skatov vied in the qualifying round of the Australian Open 2025.
Kukushkin lost to Mark Lajal of Estonia with a score of 0:6, 2:6. Skatov was beaten by Borna Gojo of Croatia with a score of 3:6, 4:6, while Popko suffered a defeat from Coleman Wong of Hong Kong with a score 5:7, 6:3, 5:7.
Earlier Kazinform News Agency reported that Kazakhstan’s Amir Omarkhanov, 17, had climbed ten spots up taking the 4th line in the updated ITF Juniors singles rankings for the first time.
