Kazakhstani MPs expand friendly contacts with their Croatian colleagues
According to the press service of the Kazakh Embassy in Croatia, the Majilis deputies attended the Zagreb Cathedral and met with Head of the Croatian OSCE PA Delegation and President of the Committee on Information and Informatization Branko Vuksic and Head of the Inter-Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with Kazakhstan Ivan Račan.
During the meeting, Mr. Peruashev told about Kazakhstan's experience in parliamentary support of state reforms and the importance of constructive dialogue between political parties represented at the Majilis (Lower Chamber of the Kazakh Parliament). It was noted that the introduction of the presidential government institute on December 1, 1991 has played the key role in the success of large-scale reforms and the creation of modern market economy in Kazakhstan and also maintained stability and sustainable development of the country.
The Kazakh side also stressed that parliamentary plurality, development and strengthening of the institute of political parties has promoted the modernization of political order and ensured public consent in the Central Asian republic. Following the meetings with the Croatian parliamentarians the sides have agreed to expand friendly contacts with the Croatian parties and develop inter-party cooperation within the European parliamentary organizations.
The Kazakh majilismen also took part in the round table "Kazakhstan-Croatia: prospects and opportunities of economic cooperation" organized by the Zagreb School of Economics and the Kazakh diplomatic mission with the participation of Croatian deputies, experts and professors of the school.
Participants of the forum emphasized that Croatia's accession to the EU, its transport and transit infrastructure and geographic location represent substantial potential for the development of business cooperation. Kazakh parliamentarians, in turn, pointed out that the program of industrial and innovative development of Kazakhstan opens vast opportunities for external turnover growth with Croatia that has more than doubled over the past nine months and totaled $300 million.
