Kazakhstani Kulambayeva wins at the start of ITF W35 Gurugram tournament in India

23-year-old Zhibek Kulambayeva ranked 493rd by the WTA won at the start of the ITF W35 Gurugram tournament in India, Kazinform News Agency reports citing Sports.kz.
In the first round match, she faced local player Humera Baharmus (ranked 951st), defeating her in two sets – 6:1, 6:0. The match lasted for one hour and one minute. In the second-round match, Kulambayeva will play vs Japanese Rinon Okuwaki (ranked 1001st).
Kulambayeva also won her first doubles match at the tournament. Paired with Indian Ankita Raina, she overwhelmed Indian-Japanese duo Zeel Desai /Rinon Okuwaki – 2:6, 6:3, 11:9.
